Color Corps
Commander:
Tony Dimaiolo
When the Veterans of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus dress in full regalia,
it is a reminder we are ready to serve again. It is the highest and most prestigious
degree within the Knights of Columbus. The regalia (uniform) of the Fourth Degree,
the cape, chapeau, sword and tuxedo were inspired by the naval officer’s uniform
of the late 1800s. The Color Corps or Honor Guard fills requests for church services,
special Masses, wakes, funerals, dedications, Exemplification, community and business
Patriotic ceremonies, parades and events.
| -Advise Grand Knights of our availability for Honor Guard or Color Corps
-Give Drill Manuals to all Color Corps participants
|
-Create a letter to all parish priests informing them of Fourth Degree Color Corp availability for Special Masses, Days of patriotic importance and general information on the activities of the 4th Degree….using the Honor Guard at masses of the deceased for departed members of the Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus

The Fourth Degree Color Corps
The most visible arm of the Knights of Columbus is the Color Corps of the Fourth Degree. Dressed formally in black tuxedo, and with the addition of a colorful cape, chapeau with ostrich feathers,
and carrying a sword, these indicate to all that the Knights of Columbus are truly present.
Many have seen Color Corps at liturgical affairs, civic affairs, and Knights of Columbus affairs, indicating the importance
of the event or the principal attendee.
Each Fourth Degree Assembly forms a Color Corps under the direction of the Assembly’s Color Corps
Commander and provides Honor Guards for Wakes for members, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, and the installations of
Council and Assembly officers.
